Sulfadiazine sodium and trimethoprim soluble powder
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
By oral administration.
Pigs: 15-30mg Sulfadiazine/kg body weight, for 5 days.
Chicken: 25-30mg Sulfadiazine for 10days.
ADVERSE RACTION
Adverse effects associated with sulfonamides include allergic reactions, Type II and Type III hypersensitivity, arthropathy, anemia, thrombocytopenia, hepatopathy, hypothyroidism (with prolonged therapy), keratoconjunctivitis sicca, and skin reactions.
SPECIAL WARNINGS
Not used in laying period for laying hens. Easy to precipitate crystals in the urinary tract, should give the affected animals plenty of water.
For large doses, the same amount of sodium bicarbonate should be given at the same time for long-term use.
Use cautiously for kidney function impaired animals. May cause intestinal flora imbalance, long-term medication can cause vitamin B and vitamin K synthesis and absorption decreased, it is appropriate to add vitamins.
Any allergic reaction, should stop medication immediately and treat symptomatically.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
Pigs: 5 days.
Chicken: 1 day.
